Safaricom Voicemail service

Like an answering machine, it takes your calls when the network is busy, not answered, is off or there is no network coverage. A message is stored and you retrieve it at the next available moment.
The service is offered to all Safaricom customers for FREE. Voicemail allows for calls to be diverted directly to your Safaricom mailbox.

To Activate your Voicemail

  • When you are unable to answer the call.
    Key in * 61 * 0722122 #, and then press OK
    To de-activate this divertKey in # # 61 #, and then press OK
  • When your phone is out of coverage or switched off,
    Key in * * 62 * 0722122 #, and then press OK
    To de-activate this divert
    Key in # # 62 #, and then press OK
  • When your line is busy and are unable to take the call,
    Key in * *67 *, and then press OK
    To de-activate this divertKey in # # 67 #, and then press OK

How to retrieve your Voicemail

To retrieve messages from your voicemail, simply dial 111.

Safaricom SIM Card Replacement

Who should use this service?
  • PrePay subscribers who have lost their SIM Card.
  • PrePay subscribers who have a damaged SIM Card.
  • PrePay subscribers wishing to upgrade their SIM Card to access new Safaricom services: e.g. M-PESA.
How to do a SIM Card Replacement:
  • Go to any Safaricom Shop, Authorized Dealer or M-PESA Agent countrywide.
  • Purchase a new SIM Card replacement at only Ksh. 50/-.
  • Your new SIM Card will be activated to your original mobile number.
You maintain the following after a SIM replacement:
  • Your original mobile number.
  • Your unused airtime.
  • Your M-PESA balance.

Bonga Points Loyalty Program

Bonga Points is a loyalty scheme available to all Safaricom PrePay and PostPay subscribers. Once registered to the Bonga Loyalty Program, earning points starts immediately.
One Bonga Point is earned for every Ksh10 spent on voice calls, SMS and data. The more a customer uses their Safaricom line, the more points they get and the BIGGER the rewards!
The Bonga Points may be redeemed for rewards ranging from Talk-time(Minutes), Data, SMS and MMS bundles to Merchandise redeemable at any Safaricom Retail Center countrywide.

How to activate Bonga Points

To enrol, check or to redeem your Bonga Points, simply dial *126# and follow the voice prompts.
An SMS notification will inform you that you are now enrolled on Bonga Points and you automatically get 10 FREE POINTS.
If you register your personal information when enrolling to Bonga, we will automatically reward you with 30 FREE POINTS. You can register your personal information at any Safaricom Retail Center or through Safaricom's Customer Care service. 

How to check for your Bonga Points

You can check the total number of points you have accumulated at any time. Simply SMS the word POINTS to 124 or dial *124#.
PrePay subscribers will be able to accurately check all the points earned after 1 hour of using airtime. PostPay subscribers will get their points based on the time the call records are updated on the system.
